User Feedback

how you collect it and use it

This card covers how you gather what users think of the tool and act on it. The people using it daily notice problems and gaps you will not see from the outside. Collecting feedback is only half of it, since it matters how you decide which parts to act on.

Questions to explore

// use these as prompts in a workshop or on your own. There are no right answers.
  1. How will users tell you what is and is not working, without much extra effort?
  2. Who is most likely to stay quiet, and how will you hear from them?
  3. How will you separate a loud single complaint from a widely shared one?
  4. What feedback would lead you to change the tool, and what would you set aside?
  5. How will you close the loop so users see that their input mattered?

Expert voices

// notes from the journalists and AI experts who helped shape this kit

“Small prototype sessions validate materials before wide rollout, and testers bridge the gap between design and real newsroom needs.”

Bahia Albrecht, DW Akademie

Things to consider

  • Make it easy to give feedback, or you will mostly hear from the frustrated.
  • Watching people use the tool reveals what they do not think to say.
  • Collecting feedback means little unless you act on some of it.
using this card

Pull User Feedback when it is relevant and set it aside when it is not. Pair it with the other AI Solutions cards, lay them out on a table, and use the questions above to get everyone on the same page. Capture what you discuss on sticky notes or in a shared doc.
